Every year, the same thing happens. Summer’s end creeps up and suddenly slaps me in the face leaving me in a stupor of shock and sadness. I just love summer. I love the way the days go on forever and the nights seems to last even longer. Although I do my best to take in and enjoy all that Georgia summers have to offer, I still always find myself with a tinge of remorse watching August roll by. Those slow days of summer might be numbered for us all, but thankfully this year, lucky little me has Sean O’Keefe Events to get me reared up for fall and beyond.
First is the 2nd Annual PwC Night of Light’s Event to benefit YES!Atlanta, an ever reaching and influential mentoring program based right here in Atlanta. The October 20th event will be here before you know it and judging from last year’s turnout, it might be wise to go ahead and secure your tickets now. In conjunction with this year’s event, Atlanta’s Big Ten Pub Crawl will be taking place this Saturday, August 18th with all of the proceeds graciously going to benefit YES!Atlanta as well. The Big Ten Pub Crawl is an annual charity event for fans, friends and alumni of schools in the Big Ten athletic conference. Holding other social and networking events throughout the year, the Big Ten Atlanta Chapter not only serves as a diverse social group, but also does its part each year to support a local charity here in Atlanta. Through the Big Ten Pub Crawl, thousands of dollars have been raised each year to support the charity of their choosing. The Big Ten Pub Crawl really is a dream of a fundraiser: good people, cool venues, and BOOZE! The Big Ten Pub Crawl event chairs, along with YES!Atlanta’s board of directors, were on hand at The Nook on July 25 to get people excited about this year’s crawl. For those of you that were sadly missed at that event, tickets are $15 until the day of the event when they will be sold for $30 at the door. Head to www.bigtenatlanta.org.pubcrawl to get all the pertinent information. If you’re like me and find yourself grasping onto those last fun days of summer then buy a ticket to this enticing event. I can’t imagine a better way to say goodbye to summer while simultaneously ushering in the fun filled events of fall.
Come autumn, there are a few other events that we will be sure to highlight on blog as the time comes. We have the 1st Annual Polo in the Pines on October 6th to benefit leiomyosarcoma research at MD Anderson Cancer Center. Taking place at the Atlanta Regional Polo Club, this event is sure to be a classy cause. Fall also finds us looking forward to fundraising for Horses and the Handicapped of South Florida at the Horseshoe Hoedown. It goes without saying, but each and every one of these non-profits are near and dear to the SOE heart and we’re all so excited to be taking part in these events this year. Find the cause that speaks to your heart and get involved. It’s been a great summer, but as it winds down, we look onward to fall with passion and purpose for the plethora of amazing non-profit fundraising events that are headed our way.
See you soon!
