Michael McFadden

Checkout this year’s Night of Lights pre-event video!

Sometimes it’s the smallest minute details of our daily lives that can have the most meaningful impact. Take for example, leaving two minutes later for work than usual. What would have happened had you left on time? Could that one little moment have changed the outcome of your whole day? Could it change the outcome of the rest of your life? I like to think that life is a constant series of choices and events and they are all a part of the big picture. They’re apart of the big picture that without each of these tiny minute seemingly pointless details, we would ultimately not be where we are. We’re excited to highlight a man who has been a witness to this whole idea: Michael A. McFadden, host of radio show “Real Talk” and this year’s host of YES!Atlanta’s Night of Light event coming up October 20th in Buckhead.

On a random day a few years ago, Michael received a missed phone call from a random Los Angeles number. Michael wondered if maybe it was a Hollywood agent calling in response to listening to “Real Talk” and potentially wanting to sign a deal. But something even better happened. Michael had missed a call from the one and only Sean O’Keefe and his event staff simply thanking him for plugging Atlanta mentoring organization YES!Atlanta on his radio show. The missed call and gracious thank you led to a stream of dialogue allowing Michael to make the life changing decision to become the host for YES!Atlanta’s 1st Night of Light’s event last year. Michael was not only blown away to be asked by Sean O’Keefe Events, but also because this would allow him the opportunity to become even more involved with this impactful Atlanta mentoring organization.

Michael’s life has been positively impacted by seemingly small decision to take part in a fundraising event. It goes to show that getting involved really does wonders. It’s a symbiotic relationship between Michael and YES!Atlanta and it’s a relationship that also benefits the community as a whole. We can’t say it enough: GET INVOLVED! You certainly won’t regret it and as we’ve discovered, it can change your life, as well as the lives of others.
